Go on and close the curtains

You and me and a bottle of wine
Boing to hold you tonight

"Yeah, guess so..." He thought for a moment how much more fun unpacking would be if she was helping him - he had little motivation to get started, but he knew if she saw the state of things, she would start tearing into boxes and sorting through things. While she tended to be a little bit unorganized, she had always been a good influence on him about everything else - he was such a stereotypical bachelor except whenever she was around. His gaze lingered on her as she fell silent for a couple moments - he knew her well enough that he recognized that she was debating something inwardly and then he noticed the way her eyes changed as she had made her decision either way. Truthfully it worried him a little, but he couldn't very well interrogate her on what she had been thinking about, so he let it go and tried not to let it bother him too much. "So I've heard... Met a couple today. Everyone seems alright." He wasn't too keen on small talk, but he couldn't think about what else to talk about - he didn't know if she wanted to hear stories about his trip, or if they were allowed to talk about how things had been or how things had ended, or what had happened while he was gone. It seemed to him like there were probably a lot of unspoken rules, and he hated unspoken rules. "Are you seeing anyone?" The question escaped his lips before he had a chance to stop himself and he was instantly inwardly mortified - his mouth had a terrible tendency to do that sort of thing while his mind was busy thinking about things. Frowning for a moment, he distracted himself with fidgeting with Nani's collar as he shook his head a bit - sort of resembling a sheepish child, which was an odd look for a guy like him. "Sorry. You don't have to answer that. I was just wondering what else you've been up to..."
