Subject: "Castle" (Major spoilers for season finale)


I was majorly disappointed in the season finale of "Castle". Most of the ep was pretty cute; them finding out that Kate had never legally divorced her college-boyfriend-husband and all the problems leading up to the wedding, etc.

But the ending was, imho, just a melodramatic cliche. No viewer over the age of 10 really believes that Castle is actually dead. It's no longer "shocking" when a season finale ends with a major character presumed dead. It's pretty much how most mystery/crime type TV shows end almost every season.

What I actually thought was going to happen was that Castle and Beckett were going to miss their own wedding and that Laney and Esposito would get married instead. That at least would have been a little bit different. Or they could have even gone ahead and let Castle and Beckett go ahead and get married. You have to kind of wonder if they're just going to reuse this formula for every season finale until the show wraps up; Castle and Beckett are supposed to get married but Castle/Beckett/Alexis/Martha/Esposito/Ryan's baby/Whoever nearly dies and so the wedding has to be postponed.
