An article about the Arrow cast said that there was a 10 year age difference in the 2 actors playing father & son with the son supposedly in his late 20s!!! The show's cast seems to be hotness first, acting ability...well...

The hero has a tech gal Friday who can hack into any system or find whatever they need science wise no matter what it is. She has her hair pulled back in a pony tail & wears glasses but one can see she's smoking hot. The typical nerd girl who need only take off the glasses & let the hair down to rock it. And she's totally in love with the hero who is oblivious to her.
