Subject: Give them some credit

Yes we all know Reggie has to go but the team did their best for the Niagara Game under horrible circumstances. Play Quinny Sunday get on a long Bus ride home and now play Niagara with 7 scholarship players. Frank was also sick as a dog but played anyway. No Maji Maji either. In spite of Dinkins having an uncharacteristic horrible game (perhaps he is wearing down) they had a lead and were outplaying Niagara. Sorry they just ran out of gas and had nothing left to give. That was it in spite of all of your insightful analysis . They tried . Give them credit for that. If TJ plays they would have won. Again Dinkins didn’t have anything and by the end Siem was dribbling it off his leg going right to the opposition etc. Reggie was calling timeouts to give them a rest but they were shot. We look forward to a new coach but do you really think Maher knows anything at all about basketball? And the new Prez is a soccer guy. Good luck to us all . Yes Reggie stinks but I hope we don’t get another Marty Marbach Tom Perrotta or Jim Baron who could only coach his own kid and then was done . Go Griffs!

President Steve is much, much more than a "soccer guy". Did you know after Seton Hall he wanted to be an Athletics Director on the college/university level? He received an NCAA scholarship to UNC Chapel Hill where he earned an athletics related Masters degree. Then went on to USC where he worked in the athletics department, and then to Princeton where he worked in athletics and even did some significant fund raising for the department. Did you know after this he earned a terminal degree at the University of Pennsylvania (Law) because he realized he wanted to rise higher in the Academics world? Did you know he came to Canisius after a solid career as the right hand man to the President of the largest Catholic university in the country; DePaul University in Chicago (where they know quite a lot about D-1 basketball). We should hope we get the next Bob MacKinnon (became the NY Nets G.M.) or John Beilein (HOF coach).

Yes I know he has a great resume as an administrator . That doesn’t mean anything as far as picking a basketball coach. There is no guarantee is all I’m saying. Maybe we get lucky.

Oh really? I remember one selection where where a couple of the committee members were star players during their student days and were convinced, as the other members were, that the selected applicant was by far the best. He was hired. He was a turd in the punch bowl. Steve Stoute must a principal in the selection process, IMO and I bet a lot of others. His life story is remarkable. That means everything, especially these days.

And Tom was then let go. Time to get with the times. Stop living in the past. I don’t care who they beat today I am still not willing to extend Reggie's contract.....

You have to hope that translates into a complete turnover in the basketball program, head coach and athletic director. This farce cannot continue any longer. Sadly, there will likely be multiple transfers . How can you blame them?
