You can’t renovate the KAC even if Canisius University did Western New York suburban fans don’t want to go to Griffs basketball games in great numbers it’s a waste of time and money. I personally think Canisius University should renovate the old Broadway Arena Griffs basketball program needs to play off campus like the Griffs hockey team some where else on the East Side than KAC. I would try and get federal and state funding to help renovate the historic Broadway Arena where the Griffs basketball double header program actually started before the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium. The Broadway Arena is a perfect size for the Griffs basketball but it’s a heavy lift and it needs a lot of work. But it’s the oldest hockey arena in the entire country still standing. The Broadway Arena is loaded with Boxing, Music and sports history in Buffalo. Renovated it and run it as a facility to rent out to smaller events too small for Key Bank Center. It would be a perfect fit for another Buffalo indoor soccer or indoor football team. The Griffs need a facility like San Diego County Oceanside Frontwave Arena that opens this fall the home of the San Diego Sockers MASL indoor soccer and San Diego Clippers NBA G League. That is the type of facility Canisius Griffs basketball needs to run for income beyond just Griffs basketball. Canisius University should be leaders of trying to get a developer to build a village of housing, shops and restaurants around that on the East Side if Canisius University and the Buffalo East Side residents wants real change. Canisius University should be leaders and they aren’t doing enough to improve the East Side of Buffalo community economically to bring much needed revenue back to the East Side of Buffalo.

Look if people can’t see or don’t want to see what I am talking about there will never be change for Canisius Golden Griffins basketball or the East Side of Buffalo. The community needs jobs and money coming in development wise not empty promises. You got to get development down there and give Griffs fans a reason to come spend money on the East Side of Buffalo more than Easter Time getting butter lambs at the Broadway Market. If you don’t get what the heck I am talking about you aren’t part of the solution for Griffs basketball or anything really for the East Side of Buffalo but burying your head in sand in complete denial of reality of why not many Western New York fans for Griffs basketball. Give the Western New York fans a reason to go to the Griffs basketball games on the East Side of Buffalo. Ok read your history of Buffalo once Offermann Stadium was taken down and then the Buffalo War Memorial Stadium was taken down there is no reason for Western New York fans to go down there. When the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Bisons left along with the Buffalo Central Terminal closing that area has never been the same for once let’s tell it like it is and be honest with ourselves. The Buffalo Bills ran to Rich Stadium in Orchard Park and the Buffalo Bisons ran to downtown Buffalofor Pilot Field and the East Side of Buffalo was never the same again left behind sadly. It’s 2024 can we start to be honest with ourselves and have a honest mature conversation beyond it can’t be done or Buffalo Super Fan you are out of touch. No I am in touch and speak the truth the whole entire area of the East Side of Buffalo needs major development investment to bring much needed jobs to the East Side of Buffalo if you want real change for Griffs basketball a new basketball coach is solving the problems of Griffs basketball playing at the KAC and lack of attendance in my opinion. Go Griffs! Let’s Go Buffalo

Winning cures everything.

We're not winning and there is no rich alum who is going to build a new arena. We don't have the money like Fairfield.

Yes, we can do something on the east side but the neighborhood has been transitioning for the last 50 years.

What alum is going to walk down Jefferson Ave. to go to a game? Never going to happen.

Kids today are connected to their phone. They stream content and don't care about anything off campus unless it's something which everyone goes to.

It's called FOMO - FEAR OF MISSING OUT! None of these kids are worried about men's basketball. We have a lousy product.

When it becomes the thing to do then this generation will lift their heads from their mobile devices.

It starts with coaching & recruiting. It also starts with a change of mindset.

The school needs to make a change vs. sticking their head in the sand and ignoring what's happening. Athletics needs to be part of the schools long term plan.

What we're doing now makes no sense.
