I think you are right on. The impressive win over the Mount was what sealed the deal. Got to give RW and his staff credit for winning that game with the talent or lack of that they had available. When I went to the Niagara game and saw that Siem was out, I honestly thought that NU would destroy us, and to everybody's surprise the Griffs managed to win. I really think that Mahar will make an announcement soon, and I bet RW is back. All those injured guys will be on board. PS. You've got to be serious re. the Broadway Auditorium. this is a garage for snow plows and other city vehicles. No way could this site be renovated and be home for Canisius basketball. The KAC is our home. A few years ago they had plans to make some changes, but at the last minute the project was put off.

Reggie’s fate rests with his play rs. If Tajh, Xz, Frank and Tre meet with Mahar and commit to play for Reggie next season, that alone will save him. Otherwise, we will see a mass exodus in any event.

It's time for Reggie to go. It was time last year. He got a raw deal with all the injuries this year,real or not. Hopefully he retires,for the birth Canisius and Reggie would look better.Damn, we should have been so good this year.

I think the chances are good that Reggie Witherspoon will stay on as the Canisius Golden Griffins head basketball coach most likely a two or three year contract with options out for Canisius University. Why I think the chances are good Reggie Witherspoon stays. One Canisius University sees what happened at UB with the firing of Jim Whitesell and UB devil of a time getting a head coach to accept the UB Bulls low salary. That is how UB landed on the terrible choice of George Halcovage III. Canisius University salary is lower than UB. No way Canisius University fires Reggie Witherspoon who will accept the Canisius University low pay just to continue coaching. That is leverage Canisius University doesn’t have if they fire Reggie Witherspoon. There is a risk that Canisius University like UB will land with egg on their face if coach after coach turns the Griffs basketball job down because of the low salary. Coaches want to get paid with term now with the transfer portal and NIL. Canisius University has the perfect low bargain level coach in Reggie Witherspoon the Griffs basketball games don’t bring in enough money to risk the schools finances over maybe. When you have a coach in hand that is willing to take Canisius University low pay. It will be announced Reggie Witherspoon and Canisius University have signed a multi year contract along with Canisius University saying we hear the Griffs fans and improvements will be slowly made to help Reggie Witherspoon when it comes to recruiting blah, blah, blah. But the reality Canisius University doesn’t want to risk being turned down by multiple coaches because the coaching salary is too low to Coach Griffs basketball. As a Griffs fan I hope I am wrong but instincts tell me Canisius University is going to raise the head coaching salary much if anything at all in my opinion. Go Griffs! Let’s Go Buffalo

Agree, cut the cord. If Canisius wants to make athletics part of the new Presidents plan it doesn’t start with more of the same.

They need to post the job and get to Phoenix to talk to as many candidates as possible.

Buffalo Super Fan if you want the program to succeed embrace change and think bigger vs. this woe is us approach. Go Griffs!

Bring RW back and lose another 100 off home attendance. How weak are Maher & Stoute if they are actually considering bringing back one of America's worst coaches?

This firing/retirement should be announced immediately.

If any player transfers over this, big deal. Time to use the portal then. Plenty of schools do. See Bona. See Lemonye. See several others.

If they bring back Reggie, I may be done with the Griffs. The only time he won,was with Baron's kids. If they don't fire him,they don't care about Basketball or the fans that have followed this team.

Reggie Witherspoon and Canisius University have parted ways. Again good luck finding a good head coach without significantly raising the head coach salary with Griffs men’s basketball. I will believe it when I see it. Knowing Canisius they will hire another George Halcovage III because he is willing to take the UB Bulls basketball low salary. Multiple coaches turned UB down and UB pays more than Canisius and Niagara University.

So good luck plus you’re dealing with KAC. Griffs fans need to wake up the Griffs have fired some good people in Mike McDonald, Jimmy Baron and Reggie Witherspoon. What do they have in common besides former Griffs head basketball coaches? They all won and were successful with other schools. Canisius has never been to the NCAA tournament since leaving Buffalo Memorial Auditorium that is a fact. Since Canisius moved the Griffs basketball program games full time to the KAC they have never been to the NCAA tournament. John Beilein could walk through the door and come back to coach the Griffs basketball team and he wouldn’t be able to overcome the limitations of the KAC either in my opinion. Go Griffs! FYI -Jim Baron wasn’t fired and Reggie only won with his kids.

I hope they at least consult with him before making this hire.

And maybe you should give George more than one season before judging him. He inherited a total trainwreck at UB.
