1. Get out of the shadow of Mark Schmidt and prove he can be successful somewhere else.

2. Seeing the experience of a first-year, first-time head coach up close.

3. Tony Skinn gave him more responsibility so he could learn other aspects of the job.

He had been with Bona head coach too long, believe they were no longer on same page and I think he felt he had to move on, but did land a good position.

Curran has been an assistant for nearly thirty years , you have to wonder why he's never been hired for a head coaching position . My preference is going with a young coach not looking to retire at Canisius . The program has been dormant for so long , an injection of energy is desperately needed , I'm not sure Curran brings that to the table .

This would be his first HC job. He's prepped by working first-year, first-time HC. He recruits REALLY well, particularly in our region. Curran makes a lot of sense.
