My preference is for Jim Christian but would be fine with either candidate.

I know Curran has local ties but he'd still be a first-time head coach. I like that Christian is a proven winner at the mid-major level that made two NCAA Tournaments at Kent State and a NIT at Ohio.

He's been a much larger level and think he would be able to bring in better recruits than Canisius is accustomed to seeing.

Curran would fit in well too given his experience at St. Bonaventure. Excited we're nearing the end of this search.

Curran, may understand the current state of basketball with NIL and the portal.

What has Christian been doing? Had he been active with college hoops?

Jim Christian is Kent State's Assistant AD for Basketball. Looks like he was a super-powered DOBO for them.

He was the associate head coach at George Mason last season. They won 20 games for the first time since the 2011-12 season.

GMU is an Atlantic-10 university in Fairfax, Va.

Curran seems to make the most sense.

Curren should have a realistic understanding of what the situation is, possibly more into recruiting at this point, was in WNY for 16 years before he left last year and might be he has something to prove so he would be my choice but other guy may bring a lot to table as well so just get somebody named quickly, go griffs.

I've been told Jim Christian got it. Just like Baron and Witherspoon, he's another 55-60 year old that's past his prime and likely in his final coaching job. Venturing into the transfer portal/NIL era as his final hurrah. Good luck.

Who knows how credible the "Siena Souped" twitter page is, but they have Christian as well.

It may ultimately be Christian but my sources have not indicated that a final decision has been made. I certainly hope we hear very soon.

Thanks Griff for keeping us well informed.

No disrespect, but with the change in college basketball as we knew it, how would any coach manage to bring in better recruits than we are "accustomed to seeing" without an NIL collective? Whoever gets this job has his work cut out for him.

The collective is ready to roll. They want to unveil it with the new coach.

We want to unveil it after the new head coaching announcement? Why wasn't it rolled out before now to try to retain the players we had. Let's face it, it's all about the $ now. I know it stinks but that's the way it is.

I'm looking forward to giving the next coach a chance. I can't wait to see what our team looks like next season. Both Christian and Curran are solid choices that will no doubt work their a$$e$ off for us. IMHO, making the NIL collective public beforehand would make the job a lot easier or even attracted more quality candidates.
