I'll be there this afternoon and will be posting a short interview with Jim Christian later tonight. Exciting day for Griffs fans.

On this date in 1964, Marquette hired Al McGuire.

Marquette basketball at the time was half asleep. So-so records and sparse crowds.

McGuire inherited a mess. By the time Al would retire the Warriors would be tied with North Carolina for the third all time at 23-13 behind only UCLA (52-12) and Kentucky (37-21).

Just 3 years after taking the job, Al would begin an incredible 81 game home winning streak that would last nearly six years.

We're not saying this good fortune will happen for Coach Christian but we're here to support him and want change for the program.

Welcome & Go Griffs!
