Subject: Coach Christian Newsletter

Hi Everyone,

Here's a link to sign up for more newsletters from Coach Christian and others at Canisius:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf4uy0-7QiigQ9nuwaLxbmPX14DDR4ykID3aynMsytjdkkaeg/viewform

In the meantime, here are his notes:

Canisius Family!

I wanted to reach out to all of you now that I have been on the job for one month and keep you updated on the latest happenings with the Basketball Program.

The first order of business was to hire a staff and hit the ground running recruiting. In putting a staff together I wanted young proven recruiters and teachers of the game that would relate well to our players. Just like myself, they need to be eager to engage our campus community. I feel very fortunate that the two coaches hired thus far are just that!

As we all know the world of college basketball recruiting has changed with many players including many of our own entering the transfer portal. Although I would have loved for them to return I respected their plans to continue their journeys and offered to help in any way that I could. Once a Griff, Always a Griff. We were fortunate that Cam Palesse, TJ Porter and early signee Carter Jackson decided to stay at Canisius.

The goal now was to find players who were both hungry to develop, and embrace the opportunity to build something special here at Canisius. I am excited to report that in just one months time seven players have bought into that vision with hopefully more on the way.

It is my plan to continue putting out these newsletters throughout the season to provide you with events and insights into the season. It is important for me to stay connected to our Canisius Family.

We need to build this together!

Go Griffs!
Jim Christian

We appear to have gone from the outhouse to the penthouse rather quickly. So refreshing to get information about the team. And the coach’s newsletter is a welcome change , to say the least. Now we have to hope this translates to a competitive and entertaining product on the court. Go Griffs.

This guy has already flipped the script on Canisius basketball - he communicates with us! Plus, he's bringing in a truckload of players, fast!
