Subject: Antoine Silvers, Jr. has been Offered

6'6" 220 lbs from Dallas College Mountain View (TX). Averaged 5.3 points and 4.6 rebounds as a freshman (only played 17 games - all in the first semester). 3 years to play.

From a D3 JUCO? Doesn't seem like the same level player as the other recruits.

Not sure. But I do like the EVP over having to write van der Plas each time! So if you can believe twitter, there are 3 guys saying they've been offered one spot - EVP, Kaba, and now Silvers.

Definitely a big bodied kid. I just don't quite understand the pedestrian numbers at a very low level JUCO, no starts, and only playing the first semester.

If we can't get a D1 player who can play meaningful minutes as a Griff, let's call it a day. Save the scholarship for next year.

I disagree. There are still a bunch of guys out there and with so many unknowns on the roster, they need all 13 to battle it out for the top 8 or 9 spots. Sangha and Kopa are one and done and in today's world there will no doubt be a defection or two. No point to holding another spot for next year.

Why??? While we will never see the level of cowardice we did this year with the fake injuries and coaches who allowed it to happen, why would you run the risk of having legitimate injuries and 7 guys dressed? As Griff said, there are plenty of kids still out there who can contribute at this level.
