Subject: Coach Christian Newsletter - Issue 2

Canisius Family,

First, thank you for great feedback after the first newsletter. It’s great to see people excited to connect with our program.

Please sign up Click Here and, of course, tell other interested people to do the same.

We are excited to announce our roster is completely filled with Evan VanDerPlas becoming a Griff. He will represent the Netherlands this summer in the U20 FIBA European Championships. Alonso Easterling an earlier signed freshman participated in the FIBA Americup winning a silver medal with Argentina.

I am proud to announce that Bill Wuczynski joined our staff on June 16. Billy and I have worked together for 13 years at TCU, Ohio University, and Boston College. There is nobody I know who has more passion and energy for teaching the game of basketball. I could not be happier about the staff we have assembled at Canisius! The entire staff’s anxiously awaiting the arrival of our players on July 1 as we begin summer workouts.

In addition, one of my main priorities has been to connect with as many Griffs as possible. I’ve enjoyed zoom chats with former players and season ticket holders. I’m in the process of setting one up with current and former members of C-Block, the student fan group. We also had a great meeting with representatives from the Buffalo Bandits. I got a chance to pick their brain on some in-game ideas with a few of our colleagues. I’m excited to enhance our game experience.

I hope we can announce our non-conference schedule as soon as possible! We’re almost set, but we need to finish up the final details on the last couple of games.

Please email me (christ41@canisius.edu) if there is a group that I should engage so I can get something put together. I want to bring people back to our program and reinvigorate pride in Canisius Basketball.

This guy is the real deal! He has me so excited about what's to come, which (for me) is the first time since Jimmy B's short run.

Bill Wuczynski, has been a “go to” guy for Coach Christian. Was with him at BC, TCU, Ohio U, etc Glad to have him. Solid hire.

The good vibes, the communication, the enthusiasm, the complete 180 from this program....this must be what it's like to hit the lottery. Feels like something great has happened and I'm not sure how to handle it! About stinking time! What a breath of fresh air. Let's Go Griffs!!
