Subject: The Snow College 3

I can't say that I ever remember three guys from the same school being offered at the same time. Would certainly be interesting if they could somehow get all of them from the 24th ranked JUCO in the nation. Just moved to 3-0 with a 94-75 win over Central Arizona.

Seems like I read someplace it was proposed that scholarship limits for next year go to 15 for basketball from 13, can't recall if it passed or if it is next year it was to be effective but if so assume there will be a competitive environment for attracting players and likely the big schools will be even bigger raiders of Maac and similar conferences players to fill out rosters. Will need to play with high energy Saturday against bona, they are fast and push the ball.

Yes the NCAA will allow a maximum of 15 next year and partial scholarships will be an option too. That being said, I talked to Coach Christian earlier in the year about this change and his response was basically that he finds it difficult enough to keep 10 guys happy let alone 13 and certainly not 15. With that position and the additional cost, I find it hard to believe the Griffs will have 15 scholarship guys in the fold next season but I guess anything is possible.

Griff, Thanks for the update, I guess in my mind isn't so much whether we go to 15 scholarship players but the likelihood the big schools will and make it even more difficult for the lesser schools to find players and then to keep them for more than one year , so offering three players from the same juco might become more of a thing just trying to find ways to attract players here is possible. The partial scholarship I had forgotten about , will have to see how that option plays out. Thanks for the info you are always able to provide, Go Griffs.

I completely agree that the increase to 15 will be yet another obstacle for mid-majors to attract players and Jim agreed. Interesting take on offering multiple players from the same school - especially if they are all good friends. Maybe they are on to something!
