Subject: Game #5 Analysis - W. Michigan

As if yesterday's 20-0 run by SIUE wasn't bad enough, Western Michigan had a 21-0 run after Canisius was up 13-4. A lot of bad and nothing really good in a 23 point loss to go to 0-5. On to Maryland!

It’s tough to dig yourself out of a hole when you’re down by 20. Griffs

Maryland won’t be a fun game. Who would have thought we would be 0-5. Our hope was to have at least 1-2 victories.

Go Griffs!

It really is starting to look that we lack more than a couple of D1 caliber players. They are so overmatched in these games. Hard to watch really.

The defense is atrocious, as every opponent is easily able to penetrate and shoot layups. We get creamed on the boards and have no rim protection. And our offense depends too much on McMillan and Kopa. All in all a formula for few wins even in a do n MAAC season. No wonder these guys wer still available so late. Poor Jim Christian is beside himself.

That was tough to watch. After playing the Bonnies in a tight game, the Griffs got schooled by Mercyhurst - a team that easily lost to Columbia this afternoon - then the Griffs suffer two consecutive blowouts. I don't know - other than McMillan, the cupboard looks pretty bare.

Columbia is undefeated, with a win over Villanova.

Doesn't make us any better, but Columbia is not terrible.

I knew it wasn't going to be great, but they aren't even competitive. WTF?

The team we saw that played a very good bona team tough the entire game seemed to hold some promise to be competitive in the Maac , now it seems the last place pre season poll prediction seems to be accurate, thought we would be a good shooting team and probably will be better at home but right now our lack of any physical presence is a killer.

Believe it or not, but I think there are several MAAC teams that are about at our level. The Mount, Siena, and Iona are just a few that I've seen on ESPN that appear to be struggling. Hopefully the coaches will have some recruiting luck. All it takes is the addition of two or three good players to turn a program around. Stay patient, and go Griffs!!!
