Subject: Looking Ahead to 2025-26

I know. But after the Reggie years and obviously the 0-10 start, I need something to keep me somewhat sane. Some random thoughts and comments -

*Hopefully, they can convince McMillan to put this season behind him and stay for his senior year. A good shooter but even better at getting to the rim. Losing him would be a big blow to them getting better next year.

*Kopa and Sangha will be gone and both have actually been pretty good at various times. Need replacements in both spots who are better. TJ Porter who has had a pretty nondescript two years will also be gone. Best thing I guess we can say about TJ is - Porter > Joe Jones.

*Godfrey chooses to stay and continues to improve. I like the kid and have been told he's a gym rat and will only get better.

*Benard back as a backup point who needs to dramatically cut down on turnovers and develop his game to be somewhat of a scoring threat. Ditto for Will Scott.

*EVDP develops into at least a glimmer of what we thought he could be. Same with Thompson. I've been disappointingly shocked by both. Would not be surprised to see one or both not return but for different reasons.

*Palesse stays and is an 8th guy next year who continues to play hard.

*Jackson and Easterling benefit by the redshirt year, stay, and contribute.

*I think it's apparent Oghene will not be back. Could possibly be a decent D2 player somewhere.

*Hoping Javante Edwards is as good as I've been told he is. He and McMillan could make for a pretty good back court.

*I'm guessing 4 or 5+ additional moves above and beyond Edwards. Certainly the easiest way to improve things quickly is through the portal - and no one has any idea what that will look like. A JUCO or two and maybe one more high school kid.

*Obviously a laundry list of needs but included in that is two more bigs, a shooter or two and an athletic wing/scorer. And that's it! :)

What a daunting list ,but very realistic from what I have seen. This team is so overmatched from a size and talent standpoint, that their chances to win seem doomed from the start of games. Having watched Bona a few times, how did we hang with them earlier this year?
