Subject: Recruiting - Help is on the way

Remember that this staff did not have the benefit of an entire recruiting cycle last year - early signing period, evaluation period until mid-April, etc. Javante Edwards was a very good early signing. More help is on the way - hopefully more to report soon. They will also get reinforcements with Jackson and Easterling who should benefit from a redshirt year of practicing and getting stronger. Things are looking up!

Griff, thanks for those encouraging words. I sure hope these guys can turn things around. By the way, do you have any information on how the guys from last year are doing ?

I watched the Ohio St./Minnesota game last night. Frank Mitchell is no longer starting. Off the bench, he played just 6 minutes, scored 0 points, had 3 rebounds and an impressive block. For the season, he is averaging 4.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 14 minutes in 12 games with the Gophers. The others below -

Dinkins - Duquesne - 10.3 points/2.6 assists/26.5 minutes per game
Staveskie - Cleveland St. - 10.9 points/1.6 assists/30 minutes per game
Gadsden - Hofstra - 3.9 points/3.1 rebounds/20 minutes per game
Siem - Youngstown St. - 3.1 points/2.1 rebounds/15 minutes per game
Fritz - Northeastern - 3.2 points/3.3 rebounds/14.5 minutes per game
Long - Hampton - 6.5 points/4.1 rebounds/24 minutes per game
Williams - Bryant - 6 points/2 rebounds/16 minutes in just 1 game

I know that their record looks bad. It is bad. I had low expectations for the Griffs this year and those expectations are being met. That's why I don't feel any disappointment.

It's going to take some time for the coaches to turn this thing around. Give them a chance.

And so it goes in the todays' Nomadic world caused by the United States Supreme Court and NIL and the Portal, with the NCAA or Congress not even seriously trying to do something about it. I'll bet a good number of Nomadic kids are losing a College orUniversity education as a result. I'm not referring to those who hit the jack pot of Professional Sports, but the 3*,2* and 1* ones who dream they are 4* or 5* material.
