Subject: I Really Feel Bad for these Kids

Obviously there are limitations, but they continue to play really hard. Palesse took a beating today. Gianni has a new lease on life as does EVDP. Tough day shooting for Dylan but he plays hard. McMillan, Kopa, Benard have all played hard all season. Having Sangha today and especially at home against Niagara would have potentially resulted in wins. They just flat out lose steam at the end of the first half and especially at the end of a game. I don't care who you are, you cannot win D1 basketball games with 7 guys. Period.

You’re correct. Our max endurance is 22 minutes. There isn’t much left in the tank after that.

This game was well within reach.

I agree. This team is trying its best but undermanned inside. Without Sangha, we have no bulk or muscle to compete on the boards. We sorely miss Frank Mitchell who,btw, is doing next to nothing at Minnesota where his size is not effective.

If our three recruits this far pan out, we will improve significantly in athleticism, but we still need a beast or two to compete. Somehow, Mt St Marys was able to find three big, strong, athletic kids to play this season with a new coach hired after Jim. Our assistants, who all came on very late in the 2024 recruiting season, seem to be much better recruiters than Reggie’s and so there’s reason for optimism.

What a day weather wise. With the snow flying, and a low temp, I considered staying home. My daughter assured me that the streets were passable and so at the last minute I decided to go. I had visions of spending the night in the KAC. As it turned out, I saw a very good college basketball game. I was really impressed by the play of the Griffs. They worked hard, and played well. They had a 6 pt. lead late in the game. Again, the problem is our lake of size, and muscle. The Mount has a pretty good team, and I wouldn't be surprised if they win the MAAC tournament. In the game yesterday they won the battle of the board 40 to 24, and that decided things. Go Griffs!!!

I get the money thing but he would be a force to be reckoned with in the MAAC. If he had only stayed. I’m hoping Coach Christian can get some solid JUCOs mixed in with his Frosh recruiting class.

Frank had a double double on Saturday for Minnesota. 15 and 12.
