Both Kopa and Godfrey played all 40 minutes. We again wore down and could not compete on the boards, outrebounded 35-15. Hoping we can find a couple muscular bigs in the portal.

Given their matchups, they played as well as they could and just fell short against one of the best teams in the MAAC. As always, they get outrebounded and get out muscled. Marist players get over screens set by Griffs as well not being able to set up shots for Kopa.
We're lucky to have Coach Christian. He does a great job with balancing accountability and praising his players. Tompkins has a lot of potential, but has too many defensive lapses not boxing out or going to the boards. I saw one of those lapses last nite, and Coach immediately sat him down. I hope he comes around though he has shown significant improvement.
I sat behind the bench last night and Coach was incredibly engaged at every time out - very refreshing. Let's hope he is able to continue his successful recruiting for next year. We need a couple of bigs in that mix. I am sure we will be a competitive team in a year or 2.

Go Griffs!
