Correct,no well connected alumni is going to reach out or even accept a call from a player who gave your school,1 good year before he moved on to his next school or 2.

Not that it is what we want as a D-I program, but there could be some benefits if they change the mindset for mid-majors. Rick Pitino said the other day that they don't even recruit out of High School anymore because he can win more with experienced players. If the mid-major mindset becomes more of a JUCO mindset - we can bring you in and get playing time/experience and put up some stats to take that next step for the following years. Again-This sucks as a Canisius fan/alum, but with the evolving business that is NCAA - this might be the best way to really build a successful Mid-Major program. If you can establish yourself as a school that has had success on the big stage, it might appeal to more guys out of high school? Would like to think that they can maintain a few guys through 3-4 years, but will have to fill roster spots through the transfer eventually anyways obviously. This has also been beneficial for those D-II guys that have been productive and talented, I have been happy to see them looking that avenue as well. I know when I was coaching at MCC (D-II JUCO), we consistently had guys going on to D-I-there really wasn't much difference talent wise from D-II to D-I, it's usually more of a difference in athleticism and/or size.
