Date Posted: 23:47:20 01/22/12 Sun In reply to: Clouseau 's message, "What do These Clue mean?" on 21:14:30 01/21/12 Sat Oh, you like tongue in cheek? I can't understand you; get your tongue out of your cheek. What? Why can't you understand me? Oh, I've got my tongue in my cheek. As expected, I found a lot information to pass along (some of which may be valuable), so I've been writing a lot (some of which may not be valuable). My motto is "If you tell a person the current time, s/he will probably bother you again with the same question in about 5 minutes. If you show him/her how to build a clock, maybe you won't be bothered anymore." How does my motto apply to the questions & answers in this forum/blog? Don't bother asking about such trivial things. I'm trying to teach you something. [BWL, Foomcl, LOL] What I found that seems to express what you've asked about is - "Without overshooting, having nonexperts use rules to create new products would be impossible, because striving to reach the technological frontier entails breaking rules." It's in "Seeing what's next: using the theories of innovation to predict industry change" by Clayton M. Christensen, Scott D. Anthony, Erik A. Roth What I wrote below are my insights & interpretations about what Clayton Christensen & co-authors wrote. I apologize if there are any inaccuracies. Inaccuracies are my responsibility & not the fault of authors who wrote the books I've gotten quotes from. If something below seems like an inaccuracy, it could be because I didn't provide a full explanation (this post is already very long & this is just the 1st part). As usual, my answers to people's questions tend to be long since I like to avoid as many open loops as practical. I've included some concepts without explaining them since this answer isn't suppose to be a book. Dennis S. It's what you need to do to show you have a clue. http://www.lakefield.net/~thrivingbusiness/ [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
