GREETINGS: I'm happy to announce that we've just held our first WOMEN'S COMMITTEE MEETING TODAY (NOVEMBER 7, 2001).There were Local 100 women representative of nearly every department. Virginia Sanders (Stations)-Chaired

Anita Clinton (Car Equipment)
Deborah Hardwick (RTO)
Veronica Brown (Car Equipment)

Some of the topics discussed were: Choosing a name, color, logo, for our organization-Our name will be THE CIRCLE OF TRANSIT WOMEN FOR ALL CAUSES; our color will be LAVENDER AND NAVY BLUE (TA COLOR).
Our slogan is "THERE'S A SPACE FOR US AND I WANT IT".
We will be meeting again in November to brainstorm and develop a plan of action for our sisters...ISSUES SUCH AS ACCESSIBLE, CLEAN, WORKING FEMALE BATHROOMS/LOCKROOMS,FACILITIES,DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AT HOME AND THE WORKPLACE,NOT TO MENTION PAID FAMILY MEDICAL LEAVE AND AFFORDABLE/ACCESSIBLE/AVAILABLE CHILD CARE FOR OUR CHILDREN.
A survey form will be distributed at The MASS MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1ST, 2001, TO BE HELD AT THE SHERATON HOTEL NEW YORK, 811 7TH AVENUE (bet 52nd & 53rd Sts.), REGISTRATION: 11AM-12NOON; CONFERENCE: 12NOON-7PM.
