The morning comes quick. Neal and Jon have called the Today show. Someone from the show tells Neal and Jon to come in at 6:00 a.m. Matt is just so excited that Jon and Neal will be on to join Steve and talk about Herbie. Katie was unable to get a comment from Casa on Herbie’s condition. Maybe one of the guys knows. Steve and Rachael arrive at the Today show.

ML: “Steve Perry great to have you on the show.”

SP: “Thanks Matt. I just want to clear things up about what Ross said on the show yesterday.”

KC: “Oh my God I didn’t believe it when they told me. Steve Perry. I’m going to be doing an interview with Steve Perry “The Voice”. You don’t know what this means to me.”

ML: “Katie come off it. You told me first thing this morning that you….”

KC: “Matt, he’s such a kidder.”

SP: “He is. I never get that impression when I watch the show.”

KC: “YOU watch the show.”

SP: “Almost everyday.”

ML: “Katie we need to get to make up then go to wardrobe. Katie? Katie?”
Matt turns to find that Katie, Steve and Rachael are walking away. Katie has a hold of Steve’s arm . Matt knew this would happen. Just then Jon runs up to Matt.

JC: “Oh my God! It’s Matt Lauer. I can’t believe this I’m standing here with Matt Lauer. Neal could you please get a picture of me and Matt for my scrapbook?”

ML: “Who are you? How did you get in here?”

JC: “Say Cheese. You don’t recognize me. I’m Jonathan Cain and this is the quintessential Neal Schon.”

ML: “Oh. You look so different in person. I’m terrible sorry I didn’t know you.”

Katie Couric comes back to get Matt see’s Jon and Neal.

KC: “Oh no this can not be happening today.”

ML: “What Katie? What’s the problem?”

KC: “Sandy please take Neal and Jon to green room #3.”

ML: “Katie what is going on here?”

KC: “Steve Perry will not do the show if he sees them. His manager said no other members of Journey on the show. What are we going to do?”

ML: “This could be the show of the year. The ratings will sky rocket. We’ll just bring them on in the middle of the show. Right in the middle of your interview with Perry. We are live and I don’t think Steve Perry will walk out on the show. He’s not that type of guy to do that.”

KC: “I don’t know about that Matt. It’s a risk. It could blow my chance of talking with “The Voice”. Isn’t he just all that and more?”

ML: Oh Katie, get over this Steve Perry crush you’ve had since the late 1970’s. He could be in a relationship with someone just like you are in a relationship now.”

With that Katie storms off to prepare for the show. Katie tells Steve that someone will get him when it’s show time.

RW: “Ready Steve?”

SP: “As ready as I’ll ever be. You will be off to the side of stage just in case things get out of hand?’

RW: “Sure thing. To your right.”

Just then someone pokes their head in the green room Mr. Perry 2 minutes. Rachael and Steve walk out and stand to the right of the stage.

KC: “And when we return the moment you have been waiting for. Steve Perry former lead singer of Journey is here to talk about Ross Valory’s comment’s that were on yesterdays show.”

“Ok Katie that’s a break.”

KC: “Steve please have a seat. Here next to me.”

SP: “Thanks Katie.”

KC: “Nervous at all Steve?”

SP: “Actually no, Katie.”

Ok Katie back in 5…4…3….2…1

KC: “Hi welcome back to Today. I’m Katie Couric. As most of you may remember we made a report that former Journey manager Herbie Herbert was once again admitted to Casa Da Crazy after not having any Christmas cheer while at a party at Jonathan Cain’s house. Ross made some very shocking statements yesterday. Like I said, Steve Perry I have a seat reserved and would love to hear your side. As luck would have it sitting here on my right is former Journey lead singer “The Voice” Steve Perry. Hi Steve welcome to Today.”

SP: “Hi Katie great to be here. Glad to be in NY.”

KC: “Let’s get right to business here. I got a phone call from your manager after yesterdays show. I was told you were not happy with what Ross had to say to Matt. Can you explain that for the viewers?”

SP: “Yes I can Katie. Ross simply has no grasp for what really happened at Jon’s house since he was more interested in the small things.”

KC: “What small things, Steve?”

SP: “Chex party mix. He was somewhat obsessed with making it. Ross just had to add the nuts and…”

KC: “Party mix. Obsessed.”

SP: “Yes I know Katie that sounds ODD but that is the fact.”

KC: “Ross Valory said it was you that drove Herbie to Casa. Comment on that statement?”

SP: “I don’t know what to say to that. Herbie has something against me or there is something about me that just sets Herbie mad. Take Neal Schon. We used to be like brothers but lately we just can’t be in the same room without the fists flying and someone getting hurt.”

KC: “Are you saying there is more to this party of Jon’s?”

SP: “Well yes and no Katie. But that is another story for another show.”

KC: “We’ll be right back with more from Steve Perry.
