She answers her mothers call, sensing the slight concern in her voice. She too is wary, worried by the threat of predators, drawn by death.

She hangs her head in submission to her dam, licking and chewing. She will not move closer until she is accepted. Pepsi does not like others invading her personal space...

She allows her daughter to draw close, somewhat glad of the company. Where are the other herd members? She whinnies shrilly, ears pricked.

She bounds over towards her dam and half-sister; she too is uneasy about the silence from the others. She knows they dislike Pepsi, and perhaps even her a little, but to stay away completely...? She snickers softly, standing a few paces away, head and tail high.

She returns the call in only the way a mother can to her foal, eyes wondering. This herd is no longer active. Would her daughters join her if she wandered elsewhere? Life without a herd would not be safe; but do they even have a herd now...?
