Author: Scarth -- S'peer
Subject: *Drags self*
In reply to: Massath & R'ven 's message, "She can be a bit heavy on the angst, but in small doses, she's great to rock to. And a very good ANGRY sound, rather than whiny." on 21:20:20 09/08/05 Thu

If Massath thought that such a jump sideways was enough to throw Scarth off her back, then she was sorely mistaken – after all, he had been in flights for a long time, and he knew what to look out for in the set of a green’s wings, to see if she was going to move or not. There were certain ways one could tell, after all. The flexing of muscles, the way her back was positioned…but he couldn’t dwell on this now, he had a green to catch! So he followed her to the side, and down, a bugle of his own answering her cry as he snapped his wings to his sides and followed her in the drop down – careful, of course, to avoid the cliffs, but he wasn’t stupid, was he? His eyes never once left her, wings always ready to spread and catch himself if she slowed in her descent.

His breath was hitching in his chest – he’d been at this longer than Abeoth, after all, so it was understandable that he would be the first to tire. Add to that his age, and the fact that larger wings tire easier because they create more drag (never let them tell you that being big is an advantage in a flight), and you have the reason why he was a little fatigued – but he was far from giving up! It was going to take a lot more than a little tiredness to make Scarth drop out of a flight – he hadn’t yet, he wasn’t going to be beaten by some green who wanted to play games!

S’peer’s eyes were glazed, but still fixed on R’ven – he was like Scarth, never taking his eyes away from his quarry. The same determination that ruled his dragon ruled him – but were they all that different, at this point? His was the voice telling Scarth to go on until the end, to never give up. And Scarth, controlled by the overwhelming lust for Massath, wasn’t going to dissent to his rider’s wishes, was he? They were the same being, to all intents and purposes…
