Author: Massath & R'ven
Subject: She can be a bit heavy on the angst, but in small doses, she's great to rock to. And a very good ANGRY sound, rather than whiny.
In reply to: S'peer -- Scarth 's message, "I feel very stupid now...*Sheepish grin* Still don't know who she is..." on 09:28:03 09/03/05 Sat

((And "Hell Is For Children" is a beautifully sad song. The Beatles and Queen are good too, but Mom and Dad don't have any of their albums, so I can't memorize their songs to use as subject lines. Don't worry, DS, I'm only 18 myself; I just like to joke about "kids today" when I bring up my addiction to 60's and 70's music, because my sister claims that it's unnatural for me to hate my own generation's music so much. ^_~))

Catching sight of Abeoth's acrobatics out of the corner of her eye, Massath thrums softly in amusement and pleasure for a moment. This is enough to balance out the fact that he'd come in late, somehow delayed the inevitable reaction to her glory; she hasn't had someone sky-dance so enthusiastically for her in a very long time. But Scarth's determination gets its note of approval, as well, since she's not ready yet to choose a favorite. Maybe her clear delight will serve as encouragement for greater efforts. Turning hard on a wingtip, the dragon angles sharply away from her former course, heading back towards the land. To stretch this out a little longer, she needs the thermals rising from the overheated jungle, not the horizontal crosswinds that are the only movement above the ocean. Over the water, she has to fight both to stay up and to stay on her intended course, while over land flight won't require nearly as much effort. It's been so long since she's had any male but Raskith, who has become painfully predictable, and she wants to drag this out as long as possible.

However, her normally lime-green hide, already glowing brightly in the sunlight, is nearing a genuine neon green even as she slants towards the island. The slightly yellow cast to it shows that even as she's nearing the height of passion, she's also beginning to wear out. Massath may want to extend her flight, but her body can't match her desires forever. The sensible voice that whispers in the back of her mind, gently reminding her that it's better to end on a glorious note rather than run herself ragged, is probably R'ven, though their minds are linked so closely together right now that it's as much her thought as his. Snarling in frustration, Massath jerks violently sideways, one last movement to throw the males off her track. Then a high-pitched bellow breaks from her throat, not quite a scream, and she tucks in both wings and hurtles downwards. No fancy spin, just a straight vertical dive, only a few dragonlengths from the cliffs forming the outer edge of the Weyr. She'll give those drowsing fools on the heights a decent show!

((Okay, to give Abeoth one last post worth of exposure, since he came in late, you gentlemen can follow Massath down, and I'll post again to choose.))
