Author: Veverith--C'lin
Subject: So I'm a little late...
In reply to: Hythe(Ith) 's message, "It's Pup NOT 'puppy'. PUP. Count them, three letters. Right, DS, who takes forever to reply?" on 21:16:22 01/17/06 Tue

She'd touched him. She'd touched him. She'd touched HIM!

Veverith's trumpet of pleasure could be heard perfectly by the riders, who were several dragonslengths below them, and probably by the rest of the Weyr. His eyes were growing red-er with his surged lust, his wingtip that had touched hers on fire. Now he had to win, that was sure--the touch hadn't been intentional, but brought out the best of the brown-pair, and now they were going to WIN.

Veverith gave a growl in the back of his throat, more of persistance than anything else, and looped around behind her. His eyes glinted, and he kept his gaze on her tail. He had to be as close to her as possible, and her lumonous tail was closest. He had to stop himself from flying out and looping in her splendor--C'lin was telling him that he needed to focus on flying!

C'lin felt a small human counterpart of Vev's growl form in the back of his throat, and failed trying to hold it back. Of course, C'lin was a very gentle, even shy person--the girlfriend he'd had once had to come to him afer he'd known her several months and had heard from Physaya and Serenity that he'd liked her. Even after that he'd stumbled over his words and had been redder than the time he'd gotten "the sunburn".(The time he'd been so badly burned that Serenity had to tend to it with numbweed several times a day.)

Havinka, he thought. Hythe's a good person, but I don't know her. So I'll do this for Havi. If--When we win, He corrected himself when he felt a surge of pride from Veverith, I'll be responsible for her. That'd be... nice. She's a good girl, and Hythe raised her... so Hythe's got to be a nice person. Right. There's my justification.

C'lin always had been a silly person to be chosen for a rider. Of course, he was hard-working, dedicated, and took to the air as well as Veverith did... but he always found himself getting emotionally involved in such things as this. Sure, other riders--probably even his own sisters--could say, 'Oh, I had so-and-so fly my dragon once' without any remorse. And Veverith certainly wouldn't care much about flying other greens later if C'lin didn't insist on it always being Ith. But, C'lin was...C'lin. ANd that was that.
