Subject: Well it took long enough :P
In reply to: Mylanith & Talla 's message, "I, ah, may have run on a little long." on 23:07:54 08/29/06 Tue

A'rak stands puzzling over a stranded boat, scratching the back of his neck with sandy fingers. He had come upon it mostly intact and completely wedged in wet sand, the lazy tide still rolling over it. He had hauled it out onto the beach proper, his backward momentum in doing so him to fall down while Kadoth, immersed to his haunches in warm sand, watched in amusement. Standing now, and wiping the clinging sand from his back and legs as best he can, he walks around the boat several times, frowning intently.

What do you hope to discover? Kadoth asks, blinking as A'rak makes what may well be his fourth circuit around the bedraggled craft.

"Why this is here, for one. And why there is no one in it, for another."

You're making me dizzy.

"Oh, I am SO sorry," A'rak mutters, bending down to touch the barnacle-encrusted boards of the portside. "It looks like it was a lifeboat, maybe. But no provisions, no provisions to speak of." With the puzzled frown still firmly in place, he hops nimbly into the boat and winces as the bottom promptly gives under his weight with a soggy crunch. He is about to remark again when a harsh noise turns both his head and Kadoth's in one fluid, unspoken motion of unity.

A'rak shakes his head in confusion, torn between his investigations and that sound. It is a decision he's usually not used to making when it comes to this sort of thing. But Kadoth is not half so complicated. With a tremendous spray of sand he is on his feet, flaring his wings and arching his neck. Climbing out of the boat, A'rak looks back at it regretfully. "Do we even know them very well? I mean, there are others-"

Has that ever mattered before, bronzerider? Kadoth's heavy emphasis on the term makes A'rak smirk.

"We need to mark this spot so we can come back...I think this time we'll be around mostly to appease the young queen's vanity, my friend." In a matter of moments they are airborne, Kadoth powering for the flight air easily and eagerly, as always.

Who is appeasing vanity? Kadoth demands haughtily, I am bronze, I am Kadoth. The only, the strong. As they reach the infamous landing site, A'rak chuckles, already more than half of a mind with his beloved bronze. Leaping down to the ground as Kadoth backwings, he gives a slight shrug and goes to stand with the other. What's the harm? he asks himself as he admires Kadoth launching into the sky in pursuit of the others before turning his admiration to the queenrider.

"What's the harm?" he asks again, aloud this time. It's possibly the last rational thought that goes through his mind before dragon talons take hold of it. If Kadoth was chosen, there was that. And if not...well, there would be wine.

((Yay! I made it! :D))
