In reply to: henry 's message, "design" on 15:22:41 06/28/01 Thu

Thanks to Henry for telling us the sites.
The idea of exploring the boundaries sounds interesting, but these sites are bit noisy to me.

as Jenny and Henry says,
"the principle of KISS"
(keep it short and simple; keep it simple shit!)
is what we should go for.

The visual identity of AND Website should not only present crossing boundaries. It also shows difference between the two areas (what ever). In this sense, AND is interesting word because it connects two words and at the same time, it admits that the two are different.

In AND Website, may be we can use just two colours in one page.
Two colours, for example black and orange, and you can use colours similar to orange and black. Different level of the colour shows the continuity and the change of identity. When does orange become red, or yellow?

Even the layouts are different in each page, if you use just two colours; it helps people recognize that it is a page from same site
This could be a strong visual identity.

If you want to put colour pictures on the page, I donft think there is a problem as long as it can be seen that the page is composed from two colours.

Trough the continues changes of environment, boundaries, surfacesc how does things keep there identity??

Taka

I forget to raise this point in the meeting~

So we've to print in one colour only, But can we change the ink colour between different posters? What about the paper? Can we get coloured paper, or paper with texture (maybe like the one they have in Paperchase, ignoring the $$$ part)?

If we can get different colour of ink and paper, we can print using colour as a link between each poster, for example:

1) Black ink on White paper
2) Yellow ink on Black paper
3) Blue ink on Yellow paper
4) Green ink on Blue paper
5) Orange ink on Green paper
6) Red ink on Orange paper
....
Or go the extreme:
Green ink on Red!
You get me? The colours of the ink and paper will be a chain, a cycle.....
Maybe it's not a bright idea though~ And we have to wait till some paper sponsers show up......

i should have siad that
i was talking about the website.

i have not thougt about the posters.
if the web and the poster works the same,
do you think it will be boring, or
it helps to visualy connect the two?

if we can get several colours
both ink and papers, it will be great.
though we have to run around for sponsers!!!

what I meant here is:
you choose the two colours you want in each
page. if first page is brown and white,
next page could be black and yellow.
though you still have to consider which colour matches which.
