I've been meaning to post a progress report for a while.
Ok It started like this:

Fine and dandy but I wanted twins (don't we all
)
So I upgraded....First I put a second set of controls on the console (left)

Then cut off the old single mount and made it into a double, then hung the motors.

Lots of work considering all the cables had to be re-routed. Captain sport found me a secondDT-16 suzuki which is identicle to my original. It actually runs better then the original with less hours I'd say after compression check. Once they both were on I added twin doel fins.

All the wiring is routed through a box under the rail,it holds all the connections so nothing is below deck.

The fuel system is not yet complete. I've set it up with a water seperator filter for two tanks: one below and another aluminum above that will act like a casting platform foreward of the console. Currently I'm plastic tanking it, but thats just temporary.

I was towing it originally with my jeep but it kind-of out grew the thing, so I broke down andgot a real tow vehicle. A Dodge 250 Cummins turbo. Here's he two together:

Performance is just fantastic. I've had it out twice the first time out to the 371 the second local. The top speed fully loaded has gone from 13 to 19 knots. Baitank empty it'll do 25 easy. The milage is down from 6 mpg to four at top speed. I'm sure I can figure a better cruise. If I need more I can run it with one and get much better economy especially on the troll. I trolled 7 hrs at 7 knots on five gallons of fuel (close to double) Through-out the day I fealt perfectly safe. Even way offshore It's rather comfortable for a small boat.
Here's a few pics.

As to trailering: it's a dream. I basically can't feel it back there. I'm getting sixteen MPG and hving trouble keeping the speed down.
I'm pretty happy. The twin set up gives me a lot more confidence. With two engines and multiple tanks I'd be hard pressed to get stuck out there. Even so I picked up a Seatow account and a Galaxy 5225 FLT just in case I do have to radio in. Probably never use it.
I'm pretty much done. It's not big but definately has potential. I figure all said and done, not counting the truck I've got about three grand into the thing, but most of that is in electronics. Hey........they can always be moved to the next one
Even money I put tuna on it before July
Tight lines Jim
