We actually had about a day and a half of sunshine (well, non-rain, anyway) so I've been chopping down trees and blackberry jungles with a couple of great-nephews. Had to wear sunglasses. Can't get the piles to burn yet though. My biggest fear is that by the time the piles dry out enough to ingnite, we'll have grown a new crop.
I haven't worked in almost five weeks, but I have a love hate thing with work anyway. The worst part is getting a call at 6:30 in the morning.
Next week, Mary and I are headed north to explore the Skagit Valley tulip fields. She hasn't been up that way for over forty years. It's supposed to rain, but there is no advanced planning for a nice day. Dim Sum for lunch in Seattle, dinner in Bellingham at the Cliff House, tulips and who knows what else. It's only for a couple of days, but ya'll would be surprised to find out how much fun I can squeeze out of 24 hours!
Here's hoping that no matter what else occurs in your lives that you manage to squeeze a little fun out of the day too.

good morning Lou! :)
sounds as if you've been very busy...
and, that you and Mary have some great adventures in store! :)
it looks like i'll be staying kinda close to home this summer after all ...
not venturing any further than the southeastern part of the U.S. ...
but, that's a good thing 'cause all my extended family live within that proximity! :)
- well, except for my oldest brother, and i don't think i'll be planning a trip to iraq anytime in the near future ...
perhaps when he retires and reaches his island destination?! :)

i hope you will still be able to make it to TN sometime?!
and, plan to stay a while if you can ...
where we live is a day's drive to many wonderful sites in addition to bein' right next door to Nashville!

L luvs ya LauraG!

Hi!
Oh, I'm sorry to hear that you'll not make it out this summer, though I most certainly understand. I will make it to Tennessee, but I expect it may be a year or two. I'm waiting for my golden years. Ha!
Back to rain and wind. In other words, just another normal day in the NW.
I took some of the cardboard sheets they send with the bok jackets to the framers last week and they cut them up in 11x14, 8x10 and 5x7 pieces. I'm spackling and painting them with gesso so I can paint on them. I've got some ideas using colors of various state locations. I'll show you if I ever get them done.
When does Mini Cooper graduate?
Well, it's embarrassing, but its 1:30 and I think I should get dressed.
Needlesstosay, it has been a very laid back morning, but them again, I slept until 11! Ouch!

thanks for understanding ...
i'm a little disappointed too 'cause i really wanted to see you and attend the dragon boat races ...
but, the rent has still gotta be paid this summer ...
so, if i wait just a little longer ...
save a little more ...
have a few yard sales along the way ...
maybe i can make it up your way in summer 2012?!
all of us "coops" are looking forward to whenever you can see your way clear to make a trip to our part of the country too!

ya know, since the dragon boat races are an annual event in Portland
- been thinking ...
- wonder if i work on customizin' my kayak if they'd let me "bring up the rear" of the "parade" since i'm a bit of a "dragon" myself?! :)

your project idea regarding the canvas you are preparing sounds "very cool" and creative!

the "mini cooper" will be graduating on May 7th!
i think she's planning on entering one of the master's programs at CU next fall - possibly in education?!
right now she's making final prep. for her senior art exhibit.

it's always good to talk to ya LauraG!
- sending a hug your way
with love from, BC

I've been lurking mostly. I haven't had a whole lot to say. I felt like venting about school but figured it's not the wisest choices to do that on the web.

And I thought I didn't sleep! lol I actually got some pretty good sleep last night.

My online job has been, thankfully, keeping me pretty busy lately so I'm trying to stockpile the money as much as I can now, because it's one of those ones that when the work is slow....it's SLOW!!!

Hope everybody has a great week!

good mornin' to ya's both! good to hear from ya's! :)

re: "venting" - i understand completely Heather ... wisdom and care must be taken in the documentation of our thoughts and words. it's good to hear from ya though. I think we have around 7 weeks remaining before summer vacation - when does ya'll school year end - have you already begun preparation for the kindergarten graduation?

re: rest - my younger son is a "night owl"... he prefers to work when all is quiet, and my daughter seems to be following in his footsteps lately - recently she's been up painting into the wee hours of the mornin' - judging by the most recent ones she's been workin' on it seems to be payin' off in preparation for her senior art exhibit due before her graduation in May.
your job sounds "very cool" Neeney! and, I think you are very wise to stockpile your resources!
I hope ya'll have a very nice week as well!

I'm still alive :) I've been like Heather and have been mostly lurking. I think I go through random "quiet" phases when I can't think of much to say or if I do I think they are too silly to say.

My health is still pretty bad and that's another reason I've been quiet. Compared to a "normal" person, my life is pretty quiet and not much happens, but when I need so much rest, anything that isn't rest is hard. I've had a pretty eventful month with the doctors. Not that anything has really been discovered, but they thought of more ways to torture me to rule out rabbit holes. If Mayo is anything it is thorough.

well, "amen" and "p.t.l." for that Brittany! :)
- bein' alive i'm mean!
i just wish there would be some clue that would surface .
one that would allow some sort of treatment to be prescribed which could alleviate all the pain you seem to endure!
bless you my friend!
sending my prayers and a hug your way!
thank you for checking in!

Hey BC and everyone else.
I've been checking in on and off. It's finally spring break which means.... spring cleaning. I cleaned the kitchen today and will be working on the rest of the house throughout the week. Exciting, I know. Next year it'll be Disney and Universal though.

hi Kell! :)
good to hear from you!
been doin' a bit of "spring cleaning" myself!
- oh yeah! you and your family are gonna have a blast at Disney and Universal! it's been years since we've been, but to see and experience it - along with, and - through the eyes of your kids is so much fun!
- while you're on break i hope you are able to actually take a break! :)
- have a great week!

Hey everyone! I've been here, just reading posts mostly. I've also been keeping a very busy little 18-month-old a few days a week and as you can imagine, he keeps me on my toes! I can hardly keep up with my work around the house when he's here. I also got an ensemble role in a production of "Children of Eden" with one of the civic companies here and rehearsals are five days a week.
Hope everyone has been well! Seems this is a busy time of year for everybody.

You're right: It does take a lot of energy to work with kids of any age for sure! Whew!
And thank you! It's the first production I've been in for a long time and I am really enjoying it. We just learned "Piece of Eight" last night. My favorite, by far, is the finale.
Thanks for checking on all of us, BC!!

BC, you sure are great at your job as the Greeter here! :-)
I'm glad you've enjoyed the music as much as I have. Stephen Schwartz has a pretty magical way of capturing the way one might imagine things sounding like the first animals and the flood waters, if that makes any sense. I actually thought the music was pretty campy at first, but I think it really does depend on the singers in the production.
