I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, but pleased to hear from you again. Enjoy your time in Christy country. I look forward to hearing if it is as beautiful in real life as it was on the series.

Love,
LauraG

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom, Angela. Praying that you find peace and comfort and lots of love.
That's great that you're going to be traveling that way! If you don't mind, could you maybe post the pictures here or at least give us a link to them? I've never really seen pictures of that area before, despite searching thoroughly over the vast internet for them.

So sorry to hear about your loss.

I hope you have a peaceful, relaxing time near Townsend. Pop on in to the Talley Ho and see if Mike is at the desk and swap howdies. He can direct you to the filming locations if you need help - Rudd Hollow and the others.

ok ladies, Im here in pigeon forge but close to Rudd hollow. The cabin is beautiful and the lady at check in made sure we knew to not leave food out because the bears would be on the porch, not to leave clothes because the bears would carry them off to a tree. WOW!!! And me and my animal loving self plan to go buy doughnuts and throw them into the woods to see if I can atract some bears!!!

Thank You all ladies for your condolences, losing your mom is a hard thing, theres nobody like mom. But its nice to have friends.

I will try to post some pics probably on fb because that what Im good at. angela beckwith on fb

but, please be careful ...
- those "smokey mtn bears" aren't always as nice as "pooh bear" ...
especially when they're hungry!

"don't feed the bear"
- by "Derby"

Ha Ha BC you're right bears can be dangerous. We havent seen any bears yet and its monday. I even threw a doughnut down into the woods but not bear yet. They say they are mostly scared of people and Ive been hiking and seen a bear run away from us. A big one. But oh well, Ive seen lots of turkeys and deer so far. We did go through townsend and passed rudd hollow but we were on our way somewhere and didnt stop.
We went horseback riding today and it was nice, love me some horses. We took a carriage ride last night too, I guess its easy to tell I like animals. My own mini horse is about to foal very soon.
Im having some trouble connecting to the net so I dont know when I'll pics up.

love on ya

Hey yall, Im home, but I didnt wanna come home. I had about decided to buy a foreclosed property and just move up there. Theres alot of them right now. I saw lots of turkey and deer but no bear. Thats alright.
We had a very good time, I love the mountains but shame on me I didnt actually go up rudd hollow. Im bad I know.

On another note though,, When I arrived home there was a brand new filly running around in my horse paddock. yay!!
She is absolutely beautiful She's mostly white with some brown and her face and on her rump. I guess she would be considered a paint. This is a miniature horse. Her mom is a mini dapple gray. So Im excited.
BC let me know for sure when you send Eogghan on his final journey, I wanna stay close to the site to the threads that ensue afterwards!!!!
Oh and BC how do people in Tenn get any work done living in such a beautiful place. One day while we were there we spent on whole day almost in the creek catching crawl daddies as fairlight calls em, we filled up a big bowl full and cooked them with butter oh man they were good.
Any how
love on all of you
angela

[> [> [> smokin' crawdads -- bc, 08:29:26 04/22/11 Fri

does anyone remember the Beverly Hillbillies?
originally from TN ...
moved to CA ...

one specific episode re: crawdads
when the "hillbillies" met a group of "hippies" who learned that the Clampett's "smoked" crawdads ...
for, the Clampett's "smokin' crawdads" was a similar process to "smokin' a ham" ...
for the hippies, "smokin' crawdads meant something else entirely"! :)

i've been searchin' YouTube ...
but, haven't yet been able to find a vid from that particular episode

i hope everyone has a nice day and a wonderful weekend

"crawdaddies" are lobster "wannabees"! :)
i've seen many in my day ...
"crawdaddies" that is ...
but, i've never dined on them Angela! :)
seems like an awful lotta work for a little bit of meat!
or, maybe they're supposed to be kinda like appetizers or finger sandwiches?
but, isn't it wonderful how in our existence we are supplied with any and everything we need if we take the time to look?!

TN is truly beautiful ...
especially along it's eastern border!
i'm glad that you were able to vacation there ...
- that you were able to appreciate and enjoy your time!
- and, that you yourself weren't "lunch" or a "midnight snack" for "smokey the bear"! :)

congratulations on the "new addition" to your family! :)

maybe you and your family can come visit with us here in middle TN sometime?! we might even take a drive down to Chattanooga?! have you ever been there?

and, i'll keep you posted on Eoghann's "10-20 whereabouts" ...
just as soon as i can pinpoint his current location ...
he's a bit of a "wanderer" himself ya know?
- BC

BC Im glad I was able to go to Tennessee too. Its a very pretty place. Chasing crawdads and lizards was always a fun thing to do when I visited my grandparents in Boone. I guess you could say I sauteed them. But when your boys spend so long looking for them you have to cook them! My youngest also caught a nice size bass and of course I cooked that too.
Im glad we werent anyone else's lunch but I wouldve liked to see some bears.
When you get Eogghan back kiss him for me, Im glad he will be going to his final destination soon. I hope he enjoys it.
Maybe someday we could get up that way to central tenn. I have been to knoxville, I think thats where we were for a youth conference. Thats as far west as Ive been.
love yall
angela

and, each others company ...
while creating some lovely memories that will last a lifetime!
