I've been having a similar conversation with Rob Jung, where I asked the question -- what if you were in Optimus Prime's outfit and were next in rank from him and pondered also legally changing your name to that of a Transformer. Would you call yourself Ultra Magnus or Hot Rod? I finished the Email with "God I'm such a geek" and Rob replied, "Yes, you are! B-)"

Which leads me to also wonder what it must be like for the other soldiers in his unit -- to have to either report to or give orders to 'Optimus Prime.' Do they sit around and think, "Why of all people, did we have to get assigned to a platoon with this f***in' toy geek?!"

Does anyone have that old issue of ToyFare magazine which covered this guy's name change? I think that article might've had his real (former) name too... I remember it had a picture of his driver's licence (with address etc blurred out to protect privacy, although I don't think it blurred out his licence number...).

I have that issue lying around somewhere... but it'll take me a while to go through all my Toyfare backissues... guh
