That's why I posted the definition that I was going by -- twice -- and explained numerous times that I was going by the dictionary definition of the word.

But people still continued to argue on senselessly based on a totally *different* definition of the word. Gah!

And although people may have differing opinions about certain things, a lexicon such as a dictionary does hold some authority in terms of providing an official definition. That's why people publish lexicons in the first place -- and there's a lot of research that goes into publishing lexicons (as opposed to forming a definition based on personal opinions -- which is hardly a logical way to formulate meanings of words).
