...had the examples you cited been anything but. Bumblebee was memorable to me as a kid, but probably because Dan Gilvezan did the exact same voice on Spider-man and his Amazing Friends for Spider-man. So I could give you that one, and you could make a case for most of the other troops since a lot of them doubled up on voices--Casey Kasem doing both Cliffjumper and Bluestreak with the slightest differentiation, Wheeljack and Sparkplug sharing a voice, Sideswipe and Prowl and Duke from GI Joe etc. But Cullen's robot John Wayne was totally unique and memorable as the strong lead voice in every episode. Heck, I STILL tell people to roll out though most don't know what I mean. =)

Tracks had a pretty memorable voice, as did Swoop(though the same voice applied to Superion didn't work as well). Otherwise I more or less agree with the list. Kup though will always be Lionel Stander in my book. The movie lines were just so much more memorable than anything that came after, and him being the driver on Hart to Hart made him the only recognizable voice for my parents when I made them take me to see it in the theater. =) RIP, Mr. Stander.

Something about the characters with severe distortion though--Welker's Soundwave, Moschita's Blurr, Angel's Astrotrain--defitnitely makes them stand out. And Welker is just a voicing genius(he's been EVERYONE on EVERYTHING--some resumé he's got at IMDB). On a show where every other voice actor didn't differentiate their characters by much leading to the 'generic' factor, it wasn't until years later when I had the INTERNET that I found out just how many parts the guy played....McNeill's another potential Welker on a smaller scale...Dinobot, Ratrap, Waspinator...I defy anybody to listen to those three uninformed and realize its the same actor.

awesome; great topic
