(OOC: Sorry about my lack of posts. My computer doesn't like me. I know, bad excuse, but the thing's about 5 years old and breaks about every 2 weeks or so. *sigh* Also, I kinda changed the druggie's gender. I had an idea that just couldn't be ignored. Hope ya don't mind that, and also the fact that this is one looong post.)
IC:
Beep. Beep. Beep. A hand reached out from beneath a pile of blankets to turn the alarm clock off. Alexis Neil threw her covers off and stood up. 6:30 AM was too early to tell whether she'd have a good day or not. After a moment or two of stretching, she went downstairs.
Walking to the office, she took a deep breath, inhaling the smell of fresh paint. Today might be a good day to reopen. She sat herself down on the old blue couch and switched on the television. The morning news was on - not much if you actually wanted to know anything, but the anchors were relatively amusing. Alex was was watching them argue over the state of the economy when she heard something she knew would ruin the rest of her day.
A bloodcurdling shriek could be heard from the street outside, and Alex heard the shop's front door slam soon after. She stuck her head outside the office and looked at the intruder, a rather stupid move. Pink hair, hippie clothes, nosering. Yup. No other than her druggie "friend", Adrastea Wintour. She immediately caught sight of Alex and ran over to her.
"THE SPIDERS, ALEX!! EVERYWHERE, SPIDERS!!!" The terrified Adrastea then proceeded to hide behind Alex.
Alex scratched her head and looked at the other woman. "Umm, Adrastea? I don't see any spiders," she said camly.
Adrastea stuck her hand out over Alex's shoulder and pointed to the floor in front of them. "They're right there, Alex!!" she shouted. She gave another shriek and backed against a wall. "My God, Alex!! They're all over YOU now!!"
Alex made a face somewhere between horror and amusement. She looked down at her legs, across her arms, everywhere. The clothes she had slept in may have been a bit worse for the wear, but there were no spiders.
Then it hit her like a ton of bricks.
"Adrastea, what were doing before you saw the spiders?" Alex asked. Now it was Adrastea's turn to make a funny face. "Uhhh...I think I had some acid and was reading the newspaper," she said.
Alex nodded. "Adrastea, listen to me. Go home. Stay there until AT LEAST noon. DO NOT come out until then. And DO NOT bother me!!" She took Adrastea by the arm and led her out the door. She then walked back to the office and buried her face in her hands. This was going to be one looooong day.
