Subject: So what do you guys think?

BATMAN/WOLVERINE

Cover: Wolverine, in uniform, is lunging at the Batman, who, below him, is bracing for his attack. They are both upon a rooftop at night.

Page 1: Splash page. A tall, slightly bulky, blond Caucasian man is standing on a sidewalk in jeans, a green shirt, a long, brown trench coat, and sunglasses. He is looking to his left ominously. At the bottom of the page, the title is seen: “Visitors.”

Caption 1: New York City.

Caption 2: Home to millions of people. From white to black. Asian to Russian.

Caption 3: Homo Sapiens to Homo Sapiens Superior.

Caption 4: The latter being better known as mutants. People that possess incredible powers, starting at puberty. Most of these beings live in constant fear of being killed by the same “normal” people that fear them. Not only for the fantastic abilities at their disposal, but also because of the Legacy Virus.

Anonymous word bubble 1: But I wanna go home!

A.W.B. 2: You KNOW I hate cabs!

A.W.B. 3: For free? Get real!

A.W.B. 4: Hey, check the news!

Page 2: 5 panels

Panel 1: We get a close up of the man’s face. As his head tilts, his shades slide down, and we see his green eyes.

A.W.B.: The Tilby chick’s got a story on the Legacy Virus!

Panel 2: The man is now behind several people in a crowd looking at TVs in a store window. There is a woman holding her small son, a teenager and a two of his friends, a rugged-looking man in a cowboy hat and a brown jacket, and a man and his wife.

TV Anchor: Hello, I’m Trish Tilby for BNBC news. The Legacy Virus: A disease well known for attacking, and killing the mutant populace. A cure was nonexistent before the late Dr. Moira MacTaggert’s research finally uncovered it.

Panel 3: A close up of a large TV with Tilby at her desk, and in the corner of the screen is a digitized DNA strand.

Tilby: Geneticist Dr. Henry McCoy, former Avenger known as “the Beast,” made a public statement today about the miracle cure.

Panel 4: The screen now is of the blue-furred Beast in a beige suit at a podium.

Beast: ---Here only to confirm to many skeptics that the cure to the Legacy Virus IS airborne and curing victims even as we speak…

Panel 5: Same screen.

Anonymous Reporter: Just how did this “cure” get airborne? What confirmation do we have this is all true?

Page 3: 7 panels.

Panel 1: Back on the crowd in the street. Everyone except the blonde man, the man in the cowboy hat, and the small, confused child, is gazing at the TV screens.

Beast: For your first question, a good man named Piotor Nolkovich Rasputin is responsible. I’ll go no deeper than that for now.

Panel 2: Back at Beast.

Beast: As for the latter inquiry, my good man, Genosha, as a country with a higher mutant populace than most, is only logical to have more carriers. Their present state of good health is evidence enough.

Panel 3: Screen shot of another reporter, middle aged black man.

Reporter: Is it true the terrorists who attacked MacTaggert’s lab were mutants?

Beast: I fail to see the relevance, sir.

Panel 4: Back to Beast

Reporter: Why would a group of people who could benefit from the cure attack its creator?

Beast : Each man, woman, child, and race are different. They must have had a personal agenda. Merely because I am a mutant, doesn’t mean I know how other mutants think.

Beast 2: All people now have hope. That’s all we should focus on now.

Panel 5: Shot of Beast walking to the side of the screen

Anonymous reporters: Mr. McCoy? Doctor, answer this.

Beast: No comment.

Panel 6: Foreground is a profile shot of the blonde man with his eyebrows pushed together. In the background, the man in the cowboy hat hasn’t changed in his facial expression.

Cowboy hat: (Thinking) You tell’em, McCoy.

Panel 7: Both the blonde man and the cowboy-hat-man leave in a similar direction.

Page 4: 5 panels.

Panel 1: The man in the trench coat stopping at a corner, pulls a cell phone out of his jacket, and presses several keys. Behind him, about two yards away, the man in the cowboy hat is leaning against the wall of a building looking around indifferently.

Panel 2: Angular aerial shot of the cowboy hat-wearing man, where we see his whole body.

Cowboy hat Narration: That blue ape went an’ told an ungrateful world ‘bout the answer to all their prayers, and they don’t care that it cost us one o’ our own.

C.H.N. 2: Colossus had his heart in the right place when he shoved that syringe into it…the syringe with the cure.

C.H.N. 3: A mutant guinea pig was the only way to get the definite cure.

Panel 3: Close up of the man’s face as he lights a cigarette.

C.H.N.: I coulda tested it, an come out fine no matter what. I’m Logan. Or Wolverine. Take yer pick.

Logan Narration: I’m a mutant. I got dense bones, laced with unbreakable adamantium. I only survived gettin’ the metal in me cuz o’ my healing factor.

Panel 4: Full shot of the blonde man on the cell phone. Logan is still standing in the same spot.

Man: Boss, it’s Kefter. You heard ‘bout the cure? So everything’s set f’r Gotham, right? Gotcha, be at the airport in ten.

Logan Narr. 2: My mutantcy also gives me enhanced senses and junk like that.

Panel 5: The man turns off the cell phone and puts it away.

Logan Narr.: That means I hear real good.

Logan Narr. 2: Gotham, huh?

Page 5: 3 panels

Panel 1: The Batcave. Batman, in full uniform, save the mask pulled back off his face, is sitting in front of the many monitors of his computers. Meanwhile, Dick Grayson is walking down the stairs with a teapot and teacups. Much of Batman’s memorabilia can be seen, such as the giant penny and the dinosaur statue.

Logan Narr.: What the Hell’s in Gotham?

Dick: “Ever dutifully at work, sir?”

Batman: With various cases. And don’t try and impersonate Alfred. It won’t change that he quit.

Dick: Sorry. So, what’re you working on?

Batman 2: There have been a string of murders, leaving victims with slash and burn marks. Also, with Bruce Wayne greeting Wilson Fisk tomorrow and my normal patrol, I’m going to be busier than normal.

Dick 2: Wilson Fisk…isn’t the guy you saw with Ra’s Al Ghul a couple years ago?

Panel 2: The monitor’s green light is shining on them both as Dick pours the tea.

Batman: I’ve come across him one other time, but this will be on a more…public matter. Thank you…

Dick: No prob. Just hope it’s as good as Alfred’s.

Panel 3: Dick hands Batman the tea as they both look at a digitized DNA strand.

Batman: Wayne is welcoming Fisk to Gotham because he’s come on some mysterious business.

Dick: Why isn’t he telling?

Page 6: 6 panels

Panel 1: Batman sips his tea.

Batman: He has his reasons, whatever they are. Doubtfully legal.

Dick: So he IS the big guy from New York.

Batman 2: Yes.

Panel 2: The screen with the DNA strand has two red-glowing orbs on it.

Batman: Rumors are spreading that his coming here relates to the Legacy Virus. This virus attacks the immune system of mutants, weakening them, causing their powers to run out of control, eventually killing them.

Dick: Whoa!

Panel 3: The screen shows a picture of Moira MacTaggert

Batman: The first ordinary human to catch the virus, Moira MacTaggert, recently died from wounds suffered in a terrorist attack, and passed on her theory of a cure to a mutant geneticist, Hank McCoy.

Panel 4: Batman rises and turns toward his batmobile, placing his mask over his face.

Batman: I don’t know what Fisk has planned, but it’ll have to wait.

Dick: Not long, no doubt.

Batman 2: I’ll keep an eye on him. I doubt he’s interested helping mankind without making a profit.

Panel 5: He jumps into the car.

Dick: You off to investigate those “slash and burn” murders?

Batman: Of course.

Panel 6: The batmobile roars out of the cave.

Dick: Need any help?

Batman: No. Go back to Bludhaven. You have more important matters there.

Batman 2: No one gets away with murder in my city!
