Author: M'Ceef the Elder
Subject: The telepath seemed to be staring blankly...
In reply to: Council of Five (minus one plus Howitzer) 's message, "The meeting continues...." on 20:25:22 07/12/01 Thu

...but the other four had not noticed. Moments after Howitzer stumbled, M'Ceef simply stared. He didn't say a word, but seemed to be under some kind of strain. Beads of sweat formed on his brow, and he bit his lip so hard a small trickle of blood had formed. Suddenly, he regained his composure, though no visible loss had been apparent to his comrades. Yet, was there a tremor in his voice as he now spoke?

"S-sorry, where were we? Ah yes, formalities, meeting you brother's other former fellow councillers. Barrage, with his sense of Decepticon honor, Arctic, ever-cold Predacon, Balos, the Maximal bear whose words do not exist until he speaks them of course, and myself. We'll answer any questions you might have about the direction of our little Starbase and your brother's role, a mantle which you will now be assuming. Then you'll have to be off to continue your captainly duties...someone's bound to notice you've been missing. You have been approved for clearance to this chamber by the way; when we travelled here form your quarters, the passage we used was equipped with scanners. You are on file and will have all the access priveleges we have."

The old man beamed at Howitzer, though the entire expression was rich with effort. The others proved harder if not impossible to read. Whatever Howitzer had felt, M'Ceef had felt it too though, that much was apparent. Was it an after-effect of his earlier attempt to restore his blocked memories, or was it a remnant of something more cosmic and significant?
