The alligator continues to read, his gruff - yet strangely low and soft - voice threading words together into the pictures and colourful visions that fill Nira's mind. He is, as well, intriguied and filled with awe, though with his age has come a loss of imagination and he cannot witness the sheer fantasy and magic that the shark Vhistael does. However, he does not stop for a very long time, until the half-sunlight is noticeably waned from the dust and windows, casting them in partial darkness. Melln's face seem's odd in this darkness, and slowly he closes the tome, holding it to his chest and rising slowly upon clawed feet. He shuffles and places it on a glass table, turning to smile with a deep sincerity and truth toward Nira. Proceeding toward a bookshelf, he scans the books held there with dulled golden eyes.. until they light up, and he pulls one from between two others, and returns. Tail shuffles heavily upon the dusty floorboards, before he settles swayingly upon the armchair once more. He opens the book.. and slowly sounds out the letter 'A,' gesturing to the pictures of capital and lowercase symbols. He is - trying - teaching her how to read.

'Ae.. Ae..'
