Author: Orbital of the Council
Subject: Frustration
In reply to: Netwave 's message, "Net wave, gave the door a hard tug." on 13:17:24 04/22/02 Mon

Orbital had had more than enough. He didn’t know who the intruder was, or even what she was really talking about. And he didn’t care. With every passing minute, the chances of retrieving Batbot and Azdak were growing more and more vague. Hell, the chances of retrieving Batbot were close to none. But as long as Azdak still had a chance, they couldn’t tolerate any more interruptions.

And Netwave was most certainly an interruption.

He growled in utter disgust, and, throwing his hands up in the air, spun towards a panel on the nearby wall. Perceptor and NOVA had hardly even taken any notice of the newcomer. They remained hunched over their equipment, determined not to lose yet another spark.

Chimpimus stopped struggling for a moment with the cocoon over his hand when he noticed the panel Orbital was now opening. He opened his mouth to speak, but found his mouth covered by Prowl’s gentle hand. Orbital opened the panel, and placed his hand on the button inside that would activate a familiar greeting.

I don’t know who the Hell you think you are, barging in here like this, and quite frankly, I don’t care. We’re busy. I would tell you to come back at a later time, but I don’t have the patience for that, either. Give me one good reason not to fling your disrespectful metal rear-end into my modified cell, and I’ll spare you. Talk quick, because time is most definitely not your friend right now.

Too nervous to speak, dear? Too bad. Enjoy your stay. Ask the monkey how he felt about it. I--

Another explosion wracked the Council building, and Orbital was thrust away from the panel just long enough to let Prowl slip in front of him. Orbital lunged for the button, but found his hand deflected by Prowl’s deft block. He tried to push his way past, but to no avail.

Prowl...

The stalwart Maximal shook his head in return. You’re needed elsewhere, friend. Don’t let us lose Azdak as well. I’ll handle the intruder. Go.

Orbital stared at Prowl for only a moment before spinning back towards his station beside Perceptor. He shot only a single cursory glance towards Netwave, who had yet to reveal her name to the Council. He was again engulfed in his concerns for the young operative and Chief Justiciar.

Prowl slowly paced over towards Netwave. I’m going to go out on a limb here, and guess that Mr. Sticky over there is your toy.He only waited for Netwave to nod in return before he continued. You’ve snuck in here at a very bad time. We’re in the process of trying to save the lives of two very important people, and your presence here interrupts us. I hope, for your sake, whatever you need to say is highly important. I believe I heard you say something about the Senate…why don’t you fill me in on this? Or…I could let Orbital take care of you…either way.

Prowl was now standing directly in front of Netwave. He stood very straight, and seemed, in his calm, statuesque manner, very imposing. Behind him, Alex had taken up a position, as if to jump in to protect Prowl should Netwave try anything. Although the human seemed very nervous, his position and manner almost seemed as if it were something he had learned…

Prowl waited for Netwave to speak.
