ES and BT of The Academy rumored two of 44 School possibly rumored to shut down after worlds wonder what will happen

Their dancers have a forced and very similar style to drag queens. Wild and often animal print dresses, way too much makeup and big wigs. Besides their trademark identifier belts.

There are several dance schools in Columbus so their dancers can easily move to one of them.

I hope the new org mentioned in a post below is not them or any other accused that know the gig is up and trying to escape.

Homophobic comments, attacking kids, spreading completely BS lies. The local Columbus and Cleveland school and the miserable moms from those schools have been attacking and spreading lies about the Academy since they day they started. I'm sorry that your dancers can't compete and that your lives are so miserable the only joy you get is making homophobic comments. With this much hate and bigotry you should just back away from Irish Dance.

I know they have some superstars who are really fantastic but they have some pretty mediocre dancers who repeatedly recall at majors that definitely don't deserve it. Those dumb belted dresses make me furious. It doesn't matter how good you are if you cheat that's all anyone sees..hope these kids get a chance at a better school to prove they deserve their placements. For the parents with their heads in the sand that think this school didn't cheat I feel bad, but also angry that you'd stay there. Have some integrity and talk to your kids about this and move them.

It's really amazing at how pathetic you are. Really. (a) those "belts" are not cheating. Nothing in the rules prevents it, and many (most) bigger schools have various styles. (b) They have plenty of dancers that don't place or recall, but they have a ton of dancers and odds are that a decent number will do well. But go on with more slurs, attacking kids, and being worthless.

Many Academy students come from other schools and could tell you stories about how classes are run and what goes on, which is why they transferred out. You don't see parents writing all over the message boards about it. Steps may appear to be simple, but they are clean. It's not always about being fancy, but about being correct. These dancers work very hard at their craft, so please, stop acting like "cheating" explains it all, and write off their successes. These students care deeply about their teachers who pour so much into their students. To the posters making fun of their appearance... as far as I can see...many schools have belts, giant tiaras, giant hair, lots of makeup and animal print dresses. I personally would love nothing more than to see ID stripped down to natural hair and black skirts and leos. BTW... black out feis... they win a lot of those too. Must be doing something right. Talk of school closing is unsubstantiated, baseless rumors and wishful thinking on behalf of the haters. If you are one of the people writing these awful comments, well then that makes you a jerk. Shame on you.

Every dancer works hard at any level past Novice. If your not cheating then don't buy the belted dresses and don't work with teachers who text numbers to judges. We don't like the school because it's unfair to our hardworking kids. The Academy does not own " hard work".

Academy teachers text numbers to judges...I would love to see the proof please, since you are in the know. And are you saying they text all their students numbers to all the judges, or just some of the students numbers to some of the judges? And just curious....if they are texting numbers to judges, what would be the point of the ropes on dresses? Also, have you been to a major lately? Many if not most of the podium dancers have their name or initials or some identifier on their dress. Doesn't matter what school they come from. Perhaps if your dancer is working super hard but not getting the results you desire, you should transfer to a better school.
