Subject: Seems the dress identifier rule is not in effect yet, so expect some blatant stuff at this O. usual suspects.
It's awful because some schools got rid of all their dress identifiers but it seems have gone right back to it. Guess maybe their placements weren't as good without them? Certainly didn't place as many at nationals or as high as in years with them. It's so sad to see the cheating in action. Would love to think we are immune in this region being away from Ireland but it's just as bad here. So go back to the belts and white flowers in your hair and diamond front dresses, but know that other parents and dancers see it and don't like it. Maybe ask yourselves why you can't dance without it? or are you afraid to answer that...

I’m sure the parents and probably most of the dancers know what the deal is. What is the point to pay all that money to have if it isn’t a fair competition. Same thing with a certain school that are “World Champions” umm, if no one else entered the comp, did your team really win anything? Pathetic

First timer on this ridiculous site. I thought this site would be helpful with information for new members, maybe give some pearls of wisdom… instead it seems like an episode from Abby Lee dance moms. So petty and pathetic. These kids work so hard and parent’s sacrifice so much to carry on the amazing heritage, traditions, and beauty of Irish dancing. For all the jealous haters out there who have nothing better to do with their time and negativity… just get a life. Seriously.

It's terrible that parents and dancers continue to do this to other dancers and want to win at all costs.

So true! I was shocked when I first came to this page and saw some of the nasty comments. We wonder why online bullying is so prevalent amongst kids and teenagers, but it clearly starts with what they are learning at home. It seems that some parents just can’t come to grips with the fact that good dancers win because they’re good dancers, and they have to make some kind of excuse for why their children aren’t winning. The cheating scandal was very sad and appalling, but the way that parents talk about children on these pages is just as bad in my mind, if not worse.
My kids play multiple sports where their uniform identifies the team for which they play, so I never really have questioned when my child is dancing against a dancer from a school where the dress has some kind of theme from their school. I know my child’s dancing has to speak for itself regardless of what we are wearing.
Don’t let the negativity of a few overshadow the positive on this page! There are quite a few that are trying to be helpful and supportive!
