Subject: New rule - 3 PC wins to move to OC as of June 1st!

Last weekend a vote passed to require 3 PC wins to move to OC in MidAmerica region. Takes effect on June 1st.

Seems more have gone to this. Western Canada is so small with few competitions without flying… I fear the requirement of the 3rd win will shrink numbers even more but it was felt the double Feis weekends was making it so kids were getting into Open too quickly

Why does it matter if kids get to OC more quickly? if they aren't good enough,they won't place at that level anyway. Most kids I know spend over a year in PC as it is. Maybe instead make a rule that you can't win 2nd chance the same day you win 1st chance?
Many of the kids who are currently in PC missed out on almost 2 years of feising during covid. Changing the rules on them now with only 4 months heads-up is just demoralizing.

If they’re going to change the rule, do it January 1. Why should kids who compete in the same calendar year as another dance under different rules?
