  As you are aware, An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha initiated a disciplinary process into allegations of wrongdoing which have been widely reported.
  Led and overseen by Mr Justice Michael Peart, a retired judge of the Court of Appeal, the independent investigation has thoroughly examined all complaints, grievances and all accompanying evidence.
  This external investigation team has provided an update on its progress, and in the interests of transparency, we can confirm 44 cases have now been recommended to proceed to full disciplinary hearing. All the individuals involved have been informed and Clauses 3.2.a and 3.2.b of the Disciplinary Procedure have been invoked.
  [3.2.a] Where following an investigation into any complaint, a recommendation is made that a disciplinary committee is convened, in the case of any individual elected to An Coimisiún or any of its affiliated bodies, [he/she] will be obliged to temporarily step down from any position held while the process is ongoing. (AGM 2016)
  [3.2.b] Where an investigation into Gross Misconduct concludes there is sufficient evidence to invoke formal Disciplinary Procedures against any individual, that individual may not make any application to officiate at, or act in any official capacity at, any CLRG registered competition or event until formal Disciplinary Procedures have concluded.
  These cases will be heard by an independent External Disciplinary Panel. Recruiting experienced, external individuals for this Panel is underway and will be finalised in due course.
  We wish to reiterate that CLRG regards all allegations of wrongdoing with the utmost seriousness. We look forward to the External Disciplinary Panel commencing its work and dealing with these issues as soon as possible.
  We would also like to reassure Members that we are fully dedicated to introducing positive changes as agreed and approved by your representatives at An Coimisiún. This is something we are committed to and focused on moving forward.

  Do you have any of the 114 CLRG members in your Region that have resigned their position or may due to disciplinary procedures being invoked that are required to step down and not be able to be replaced, therefore your Region will not have full representation at the EGM, has your Region sought for these members to be replaced according to the rules of An Coimisiun as long as they are current members, in good standing, that have been accepted via the registration process and subject to the voting procedures that enable them to be elected as a valid teachers representative for their Regional Council or as an elected Teachers Representive to An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha with no ratification from the floor of An Coimisiun.
  
  Lay Members that are elected via Regional Councils need to be ratified at an An Coimisiun meeting once all checks (Vetting & Child Protection) have been completed by the Regional Council.
  
  Will this affect the teachers in your Region being afforded representation at the EGM?

  Totally fine to watch game, but at least make an announcement so all dancers aren't waiting for over an hour and a half because judges want to watch the game. Totally unfair to the dancers. Just let the dancers know....the announcement was made that the judges would arrive right at the end of the game....ironic? In poor taste for the organizers and the adjudicators.   Midlands in Ireland had a total of 15 U16 girls in their oireachtas/qualifier for worlds. 2 WMH and a tie for 7th place gave them 8 WQ out of 15 dancers. 15 U13 girls and 11 U14 girls!
  The farther away you get from 20 dancers in any competition the less dancers qualify for worlds. We should not be penalized because our region is large. All regions should be close to the same size ( base it on the previous number of dancers).

  I’m not going to reveal my name but I am Ladies U18 that competed at Oireachtas yesterday. I’m very mad at people who choose to be rude to others due to their stress. Please find healthy ways to cope. Here is 3 rings that happened in between 7:45AM- 9:30AM. First off, I asked a girl during number check if she was ok because she was freaking out. She told me “I’m fine bitch”. Learn to control what you say to others who are nice. Second, as there was 0 room to put my dress back in its bag, I put the bag on the floor. Some girl said excuse me and proceeded to step on my finger. Please, we are all in the same boat. Give me one second. Use your visuals. Third for teachers, we acknowledge that you have places to be however, do not push me up the stairs when I was standing as far to the right as I could go. It’s awesome to have the support of your teacher watching! Just don’t push someone you don’t know. These are just three of the first things that happened to me today. A girl even made multiple threats because she couldn’t control her words. Please take care.

  ‘Make cheating harder. Why are the names of dancers in each split already published? Split competitions all start at the exact same time. There is no need for this information to be available three weeks in advance. Dancers don’t need to know what ballroom to go weeks in advance. Judges should not have access to the list of competitors weeks in advance either. This list of names gives them plenty of time to create their top ten lists based on previous results. We want more changes. Mid-America set the bar higher. Our children deserve better.

  I appreciate what the committee is trying to do to make this a fair Oireachtas for all, but until MidAmerica Region and CLRG bans solo costuming that identifies the school to which a dancer belongs, eliminates the number check - whose sole purpose seems to be to help judges id those dancers and adjust scores accordingly, and prevents teachers from standing right next to judges table when their dancers are on stage, the fairness of our Oireachtas will ALWAYS be questioned by parents who have witnessed these practices going on literally for years.
  It does not take a rocket scientist to pick out dancers from 3 schools in particular in our region from a line up at a Feis or major. Couple that with their teacher standing in eye sight of the judges table, it’s very easy to know who dances from said schools. The Oireachtas committee still has time to make adjustments to this year’s competition in light of this scandal.
  Sequestered judges and no access to phones and social media would also be helpful.

  Not sure how a judge can really be fair when they are judging students of one of their own former students, who now teaches. Especially when they are all Cleveland Irish Dance schools. Too close and really see the inaccurate results. The different results between the two judges is vary obvious.
  
  How can someone place when they clearly forgot their steps and were off time. Other dancers were on time and knew their steps. Novice and Prizewinner dancers should not be allowed to stop and restart. They should be better than that! I really see the lack of certain area schools attending the feis this weekend and it is more and more clear why they don’t support this feis series.

  Friendly Reminder that registration is closing on June 6 for the Chicago areas "back-to-back" Feises:
  
  * Mullane Godley Feis Saturday, June 17
  * MG Father's Day Feis Sunday, June 18 (Black-out Feis)
  
  As in the past, the Feises will be held at the large indoor Max McCook complex.
  
  This will be a great opportunity for all "first feis" and beginner dancers to perform their new steps on stage and get rewarded for all their hard work. A special "thank you" gift will be given to all "first feis" dancers.
  
  This will also be a great last chance tune-up for the North American Championships. Similar to past MG Feises, OC dancers will perform all three rounds; while PC dancers will do their two rounds with a separate set dance competition.
  Second chance competitions will be offered in Novice, PW, and PC. Trophies will be provided 1st place dancers in all Prizewinner competitions.
  
  The Father's Day Feis will once again feature the "Father's Day Special. More information available in the syllabus.

It's the day after the Bluegrass/Louisville Feis weekend, giving you/your dancer the opportunity to compete twice and complete grade exams in one trip.   The Mullane Godley Academy will once again host our annual Halloween Feis on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the McCook Athletic and Exposition Center in McCook, IL.
  
  As in past years, we strongly encourage all dancers, parents, and friends to come in their best Halloween costumes. This year, adjudicators will have a special treat for any dancer they want to reward for the originality of their costume.
  
  The Feis is now open for entries through October 13 at www.QuickFeis.com. Please note, due to the occupancy limitations set by the venue, we anticipate meeting that entry cap once again.
  
  In preparation of the 2021 Mid-America Oireachtas, all Preliminary and Open Championship dancers will dance all three rounds and be adjudicated by a total of nine adjudicators. This is the same adjudicating format that will be used at the Oireachtas. There will not be a recall - all dancers will perform their set dance.
  
  We are also happy to provide Beg 2, Novice, and Prizewinner dancers a "second chance" competition. Please refer to the syllabus for more information.
