I have a CD adapter and had been able to run the test files with it at one point with some notes playing. Nothing now.

I may try to tinker with the cassette deck a little. I have a lot of tapes but they have mostly lost their pads (or do lose them when I touch them) and would rather go digital. If I could confirm that what I have works I'd love to do without the deck.

I figured there was too much going on in the deck to be able to do an easy check. Glad I asked. Could be the head on the deck... the cable from the deck to playback board... just eliminate some obvious things.

I'd love to ship off all my components to have them checked out. I may do that after I confirm the cables I have have no faults.

Thanks for your prompt reply.

Dave
