As Chair said, if the friends saw the photo, thought it appeared to be the accused, contacted him, and disposed/destroyed items from his room knowing he might be involved with the bombing, then they are certainly guilty of obstruction of justice at a minimum. However, if he contacted them and at the time of contact, they had not yet seen the photos or had any inclination of his involvement in the bombing, then there would have been no motivation for their other actions other than helping a friend out with a request. This is one where we have to wait for more information to surface during trial.
