Where's the nearest cash machine? Tricor Trilipix As I grew older I found the taking of “snaps”, usually on holiday, an irritation – whichever side of the camera I found myself. Trying to get a tan on my puny physique was challenging enough without being asked by a parent anxious to catch the happy moment to “sit up properly and smile”. If a particular view was breathtaking, I wanted to look at it through my own eyes, not the viewfinder of a camera. The sight of Japanese tourists standing with their backs to Nelson’s Column or Blackpool Tower (come to think of it, I don’t think I saw a single Japanese tourist with their back to Blackpool Tower in the 10 years that we holidayed there) always puzzled me. Were such photos taken simply to prove to disbelieving friends that they really had been where they said they had? I seldom saw any of them look at the landmark itself.
