Subject: "The service there leaves a hell of a lot to be desired!"
In reply to: Dr. Deborah Reed 's message, "Deborah Reed glanced at her wrist chronometer..." on 20:09:45 06/20/01 Wed

Before Deborah could further react to Molly's panicked observation, Dr. Antony returned with her lunch.

"I swear, this blazing station is becoming more and more a zoo than a military installation! You would not BELIEVE the menagerie I ran into, or the crap I had to deal with to get your food, Ace! How you can even eat this stuff...that metal moron Howitzer REALLY should have had a human consultant when he planned the organic dining facilities...don't EVEN get me started on the lousy Finkelberg™ vending machine--sorry, excuse for a vending machine--in the waiting area. Anyway, you better eat before it gets cold and--

Deb? What is it? What's wrong?"

The tirade ended as Edward finally noticed the terror in Molly's eyes and the panic in Deborah's. Something WAS wrong, and his usual temper and bullheadedness let him charge in without realizing the atmosphere. He wanted to take her in his arms and comfort her, to hold her tightly and whisper in her ear that everything was going to be alright, to tell her that he lov--no. Edward clenched his fists; what he wanted was impossible, and such an invlovement with a coworker, a subordinate, even on the slim chance she returned his feelings, was scandalous. "Scandalous? The blazes with scandal. I've done much worse things in my day..." he thought grimly.

"Damnit, woman! Don't keep me in suspense! We lose a patient or something? What happened?!
