...Mark had the sickening feeling that there would be no turning back, that from this point on he was committed to the very end. He fought the urge to look back over his shoulder, down the corridor to the coffee house where this dangerous trek had begun. It would do no good; not now.
Javier motioned for him to sit at a small table. Mark fiddled with the stems of his glasses, and pulled the small metallic device from his shirt pocket. His client smiled with unrestrained anticipation as Mark slid the vial of glowing liquid into a slot on the device, and began calibrating the chemical analyser.
"Mmm-huh...ye-ahh..." Mark muttered, "Energy readouts analogous to energon....some other strange chemical properties...higher concentrated Oxygen level than expected...and...whoa...
At least two elements NOT on file in here....I've never seen readouts like this before!
Javier was on the verge of raucous laughter, a state which put Mark ill at ease. He decided it best not to get the Trader-merchant's hopes up too much. The truth was it could be anything; the old reports only listed the effects, not the exact chemical breakdown. And the only place that would even have a record of the existence...
Don't get your hopes up too much. All I'm saying is I don't know what half the composite elements ARE...that doesn't mean it's what you hired me to confim. If I'm going to be of a-any more help to you, I'm going to need a little more information....
