One minute, he had been standing next to Prowl. The next, a bug had landed practically on top of the Maximal Councilor. In his struggle, Prowl had unwittingly thrown his arm against his smaller human companion, sending Decado flying near plum across the street. He had struck the wall of a building hard.

He rolled over onto his back, and sat up. He shook his head, but found it extremely painful. Wincing, he touched the back of his head.

Wet...

Bringing his hand back, he saw the blood smeared across his palm. Just great...damn. Shakily, and bracing himself against the wall, he managed to get to his feet again. Glancing across the street, he saw Nightshade tackle the bug. As much as he needed to get to the Senate, he knew he should probably try and help the Councilors in their struggle. He began hobbling towards the Council building again when he noticed another bug flying directly towards him.

He froze in his tracks. For the first time in his life, he was too scared to move. As the bug drew closer, Decado squeezed his eyes shut, prepared for the worst...

He heard the distinctive whine of a classic Earthen blaster, followed by a shrill shriek. Opening his eyes, he saw where the blast had come from. Lord Denarius Shelley was scooting down the front steps of the Senate building as fast as his antique legs would allow, aiming his blaster at the bug again. He had not killed it, but had certainly gotten its attention.

Decado watched with dawning horror as Shelley pulled off another shot at the insect, which was now making a run for the Senator...and missed. The insect slammed into Shelley, knocking him to the ground, and landed on top of him. Decado screamed, and ran to help his Senator, even as the bug's proboscis extended closer and closer to the elderly Senator...
