I mounted Hawaiian Boy and we warmed up at a walk. Somehow he knew that he was going to go cross country and kept tossing his head and pawing at the ground. After trotting for 15 minutes I cantered him in circles to settle him down. It worked. We went over some practice jumps and then we were ready. I steered him toward the first jump. No trouble there. We headed towards the next jump (there were 15 jumps in all) which was a chicken coop. He flew over it as high as he could. We galloped to the third jump and wewere going so fast I couldin't see the ground!!!! I had to circle him a few times until we were able to continue on with the course. We jumped the last 12 jumps cleanly and cooled off by swimming in the stream. That was so much fun!!!
